Grade Level Description
10th grade White - Signifies innocence, as that of the beginning student who has no previous knowledge of Taekwon-Do.
8th grade Yellow - Signifies the earth from which a plant sprouts and takes root as the foundation of Taekwon-Do is being laid.
6th grade Green - Signifies the plant's growth as Taekwon-Do skills begin to develop.
4th grade Blue - Signifies the Heaven towards which the plant matures into a towering tree as training in Taekwon-Do progresses.
2nd grade Red - Signifies Danger, cautioning the student to exercise control and warning the opponent to stay away.
1st Dan - 9 Dan Black Belt- Opposite of white, therefore signifying maturity and proficiency in Taekwon-Do; also indicates the wearer's imperviousness to darkness and fear.

ReplyDeleteKUCHING: More than 1,200 exponents from various martial arts associations will be performing in conjunction with the annual Kuching Festival at Jubilee Ground, here, on August 14.
General manager of Natural Avenue Sdn Bhd, Jackson Lim on Friday presented their sponsorship of RM35,000 to Kuching South City Municipal Mayor, James Chan for the association to host the performances.
Starting at 7pm, performances from Wushu Association of Sarawak, Aikido Association of Sarawak, International Taekwondo Federation, Rumpun Silat Sarawak and Sarawak Taiji QiQong Shibashi Association promise an entertaining and well-choreographed moves.
Through this kind of festival, exponents from each association are given the chance to mingle and foster close relationship among themselves for the glory and development of each sport.
Among the activities for the Kuching Festival which will be launched on August 1 are food fair, stage performances from well-known singers, exhibitions and firework shows
