ITF Sarawak Team demonstration at Kampong Riih Mawang “Annual Awards and dinner” 12 February 2011 Special Guest Dato Grand Master Dr. Leong Wai Meng

On the 12th February 2011, ITF Sarawak had been invited by an honourable Grandmaster Dato Dr. Leong Wai Meng to perform a demonstration at his residence during the Kampung Riih Mawang Annual Dinner 2011. 10 ITF Sarawak members had been selected to present a Taekwon-Do ITF demonstration on that very special event. The members involved are :

Jeffrey Wee (4th Degree) – Master of Ceremony

Jimmy Lo (3rd Degree) – Coach / performer

Jeremy Lo (2nd Degree) – Coach / performer

Amy Bong (2nd Degree) – performer

Bryan Daveson (2nd Degree) - performer

Joseph Chin (2nd Degree) – performer

Isaac Chai (2nd Degree) – performer

Joseph Chin (2nd Degree) – performer

Lee Puay Kian (2nd Degree) – performer

Lawrence Chai (1st Degree) – performer

Delton Sako (1st Degree) – performer

ITF Sarawak had came out with seven items to be displayed during the dinner function on that night with the presence of Grandmaster Dato Dr. Leong Wai Meng and his elder brother as well as their wives. The items were, Mix Team Pattern, Special Techniques, Power Breaking, One Step Sparring, Male Self-Defense Routine and Ladies Self-Defense Routine.

The demonstration were very successful and indeed it served as an eye opener towards the villagers on the importance of good health and most importantly a weapon in facing dangerous situation through the practice of this arts. According to one of the villager, they never experienced any live performance by any martial arts group. Demonstration by the ITF Sarawak, were very lively and the whole demonstration had been performed professionally that night. All the villagers in the dinner that night, were very impressed by our performance and hope that there will be more demonstration in future. The purpose of this demonstration was to exposed to the people or public on the benefits and importance of practicing Taekwon-Do ITF compared to the other arts. Most importantly, was to spread the teaching of the “DO” by the founder of this arts, the late General Choi Hong Hi. Besides, those invited guests who also present on that night were ITF Sarawak Chief Instructor, Master Johnny Chai (7th Degree) and ITF Sarawak Committee member, Mr. Leong Wee Ping (6th Degree). After the demonsration, all of us were treated with dinner by Grandmaster Dato Dr. Leong Wai Meng.
