Overvue of the Championship

The Overvue of this championship is rather hard to express. The spirit of winning among the competitors are well shown during the championship. We are glad to have known some of other state team members even stands in the row of Sarawak Team, being supportive during the opening n closing ceremony, and we are glad that team members from Melaka, Pulau Pinang and Johor has shown their friendly support towards Sarawak Team During our events, by giving support, that we don’t feel leftout so much as we don’t have enough Participant to represent our State, due to financial problems.

The Venue is a very nice and cozy place for a championship, despite the unsuitable location of the 3 rings makes it harder to get from one ring to another. Time consuming if one trying to find the right event as the location is not in order.

On the other hand, looking at the Assistant Juree President are amongst youngsters, younger age compare to the facilitator which among all are teenagers, that are more suitable as assistant juree, time keeper etc.

And by looking at the difference of techniqeus, used by different state in self defense routine, free sparring, one could really improve themselves by attending, n better still taking part in such championship.

But still, in the free sparring,injuries are unavoidable, but in this championship, we could still see the misuse of power, not complying with referee orders, but also maybe due to some new and inexperience referees and umpires.Some Participant event still not complying with tournament rules which was stressed to them beforehand. Serious injuries including lose of teeths, unstopable nosebleeds might scare any parents to think twice before enrolling or may advice their children to stop practicing martial art, where it is considered violence and dangerous.

As for Sarawak Team in this Championship, Mr. Lawrence may have been in nervous state when competing in his events, may be due to unfocus mindset, as for me, my lack of sparring training, jogging, does really show when the event of sparring and power breaking came up, as it requires not just focus, but strenght training and stamina is equally a must haves. In terms of preparation , there is still room for improvements.

Overall, any events will have at least minor setbacks, this championship included, but it is also a sucessful one. But, It would be a lot better if our Sarawak Team could have more participants to this Honourable National Championship, and rest a sure that Sarawak Team Can exel as Gold medalist as our Quality of performance are competitive, and improving through time. Especially having to be Team Manager when we are participating, it was having less time to warm up and stretching before our own event, when we are caring for our team mates.

Hopefully, with this report, there will be improvements in future Championship or any tournament will be held in near future.
