6th TKD ITF Asian Championship in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 25th-30th









6th TKD ITF Asian Championship in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 25th-30th Apr. 2012The 6th Asian Taekwon-Do Championships were successfully concluded on April 30th, 2012 in Dushanbe Tajikistan The 6th ATC was successfully held from Apr. 25th ~ 30th, 2012 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The Opening Ceremony was held on Apr. 27th, 2012 at МАЧМААИ ВАРЗИШЙ stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. In the Opening Ceremony participated His Excellency MAKHMADSAID UBAYDULLOEV, the Chairman of the Upper Chamber of the Tajik Parliament, Mr. MALIKSHO NEGMATOV, the Minister of Sports & Youth Tourism, Prof & PhD. Chang Ung, the ITF President and over 380 participants in the Championships including competitors, umpires, coaches, officials from 18 countries and over 1000 audience. At the Opening Ceremony His Excellency MAKHMADSAID UBAYDULLOEV, the Chairman of the Upper Chamber of the Tajik Parliament, delivered an opening speech and Prof. & PhD Chang Ung made his congratulatory speech for all the participants in the Championships. Also, the congratulatory message sent by Mr. Kim Kyong Ho, the ATF President, was delivered to the participants. Succeeding the Opening Ceremony TKD pattern, sparring, self-defense routine, special technique and power breaking competitions were conducted according under the Senior and Junior categories. Under the senior category, the DPR Korea team won the overall 1st place with 18 golds, 7 silvers, 6 bronzes, while Tajikistan took the runner-up place with 7 golds, 15 silvers, 15 bronzes and Kazakhstan the 3rd with 4 golds, 5 silvers and 19 bronzes. Under the Junior category, Tajikistan won the overall 1st place with 25 golds, 11 silvers, 23 bronzes, while Kazakhstan took the runner-up place with 11 golds, 18 silvers, 11 bronzes and the the DPR Korea 3rd with 4 golds and 1 bronze. Ms. Ri Hyang Mi (DPR Korea, Senior Female, 2 golds, 1 bronze), Mr. Ri Hyon (DPR Korea, Senior Male, 2 golds), Ms. Ri Un Jong (DPR Korea, Junior Female, 3 golds) and Mr. Naimov Muhammad (Tajikistan, Junior Male, 2 golds) were awarded the Absolute Champion Trophies of the 6th Asian Taekwon-Do Championships. The Championships Best Female Team and Best Male Team Trophies were awarded respectively to the DPRK female and Tajikistan male teams. At the awarding ceremony, Mr. MALIKSHO NEGMATOV, the Minister of Sports & Youth Tourism and Master Mirsaid Yakhyaev, the President of Tajik National Taekwon-Do & Kick Boxing Federation, presented medals, diplomas and trophies to the winners and congratulated on their achievements. On the other hand, several questions were raised from the participants on allowing any country, including the host country, to have only 1 team in strict observation of the ITF tournament rules, on providing transparency in making match tables of the competition, on perfecting the electronic scoring system, and on wearing protective equipments of the color same with the competitor’s corner. Above questions will be discussed and decided at the next ATF EB meeting and Congress.
